On April 1, 2004, PENTAX Corporation of Japan announced the merger of its two
U.S. subsidiaries, PENTAX Precision Instrument Corporation (now PENTAX Medical Company), and PENTAX U.S.A., Inc. (now PENTAX Imaging Company), forming PENTAX of America, Inc.

PENTAX Medical Company, a division of PENTAX of America, Inc., was founded in 1979 as Pentax Precision Instrument Corporation, the U.S. Medical Division of PENTAX Corporation. Their main focus was providing endoscopic imaging devices and technology to the medical profession.

Today, PENTAX Medical Company is an industry leader specializing in the development of video and fiber endoscopy equipment and computer technology/imaging products for diagnostic, therapeutic and research applications in the GI, ENT and Pulmonary medical fields.

We offer a full range of endoscopes, accessories, carts, computer hardware & software platforms, video equipment, and computer software for image and data management. Recent advances include Motion Picture Studio (MPS) for full- motion, real-time video capture of procedures, transnasal TNE & TEGD, 360° Ultrasound, and Confocal Endomicroscopy - an emerging technology that allows cellular and sub-cellular viewing of tissue through an endoscope.
