PENTAX Medical Donate USD430,000 Worth of Medical Devices to Fight Novel Corona Virus (2019-nCoV)

March 6, 2020

Tokyo—March 6th, 2020

China is undergoing tremendous challenges as a result of the novel coronavirus outbreak, which spreads at a high speed with a wide range of influence. Measures taken to limit the spread of infection, such as the suspension of transportation and business operations, have rarely been seen on this scale before.

PENTAX Medical has been paying close attention to the epidemic situation and immediately coordinated the supply of USD430,000 worth of medical devices such as bronchoscopes and intubation scopes to donate to provinces and cities severely affected by the epidemic.

PENTAX Medical bronchoscopes can be used in procedures such as bronchoalveolar lavage and sputum suction, providing high resolution images, precise and concise operation and allowing thorough disinfection. The devices will support medical professionals in the treatment of patients suffering from novel coronavirus pneumonia and help to prevent the virus from spreading further.

The first batch of devices is in transit to hospitals in the worst-affected areas. In the meantime, staff, from management level to sales, technical support and service are working to ensure that all necessary measures are taken for PENTAX Medical to be in the best position possible to provide support to those on the front line of the fight against the novel coronavirus.

“We have a duty and obligation to serve society, the community, hospitals and patients in this truly sad and dangerous time.”  Gerald W. Bottero, Global President, PENTAX Medical mentions.

PENTAX Medical is dedicated to improving the standard of patient care and quality of healthcare delivery. We will continue to pay close attention to the epidemic situation and respond accordingly.
