PENTAX Medical Expands Global Research and Development Facilities to Generate a Wider Range of Quality and Innovative Videoscope Solutions

PENTAX Medical transitions to Global Production and launches the VIVIDEO ENT Videoscope Solution

Hamburg, Germany, Nov 28, 2014 – In 2012, Digital Endoscopy GmbH, a German based imaging technology center, has been acquired and integrated into PENTAX Medical. The integrated synergies of advanced imaging technologies are already resulting in the expansion of innovative product offerings. Today, PENTAX Medical is commercializing, initially in Europe, the first global product designed and manufactured in PENTAX Medical´s new European facility – VIVIDEO ENT Videoscope Solution.

The VIVIDEO is a new and advanced ENT video solution bringing to market the first HD, cost-effective video scope allowing fiber scope users to join the technology breakthrough and convert to video endoscopy. “We are very excited to be the first region to launch this great product and based on the feedback received from the first users, are certain it will have a significant impact on the ENT market in EMEA.” Says Ismael Nujurally, President, PENTAX Medical EMEA.

“This product offers high quality diagnostic examinations with a lot of advantages for all ENT patients and due to its attractive price point, digital video endoscopy is affordable for the first time for all ENT users.” says Dr. Van Den Broek, University Hospital of Nijmegen, Netherlands. “From the patient’s perspective, the availability of these high quality systems results in faster diagnosis due to much better imaging quality during flexible digital laryngoscopy compared to fiber-optic examination resulting in less diagnostic laryngoscopies under general anesthesia.” he adds.
