HOYA Group PENTAX Medical Launches Splash M-Knife, The New Multi-Functional ESD Device Contributing in Early Treatment of Gastric Cancer
May 25th, 2015, Tokyo – HOYA Group PENTAX Medical launches Splash M-Knife, the new multi-functional ESD Device to achieve complete Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) with a single device. The new device will be demonstrated aｔ the 89th Annual Meeting of The Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) Congress to be held in Nagoya, Japan from May 29th through 31st, 2015.
Flexible endoscopes have been developed to be used in minimally invasive treatment procedures in combination with therapeutic devices. Since its invention in Japan over a decade ago, ESD procedures are gaining worldwide interest and adoption for its clinical and financial benefits contributing to early recovery, reduced procedural complexities and costs.

The unique multi-functional Splash M-Knife has the following features:.
Multi-function
It achieves clear marking, better hemostasis and smoother and easier operation during a procedure without replacing the knife.
Unique Mechanism
A special disk section in the knife helps hooking up the tissue for improved safety and ease of cutting, while the metal plate closes the knife for clear marking and better hemostasis
Water-Jet Function
It enables additional injection without changing the device
