HOYA's Endoscopy Business in Japan Transitions to PENTAX Medical Corporation

Effective August 1, HOYA's endoscopy business in Japan has officially transitioned to PENTAX Medical Corporation through a corporate split, marking an important milestone in the evolution of our global organization.
While HOYA's endoscopy business has long operated globally through approximately 20 dedicated entities, the business in Japan had previously been managed as the PENTAX Life Care Division of HOYA Corporation. With this transition, the Japanese endoscopy business will now operate as an independent company under the PENTAX Medical organization.
This new structure will enable more focused and agile decision-making across product development, sales and marketing, regulatory affairs, and other key functions. By aligning our operations more closely with the unique demands of the healthcare industry, we are strengthening our ability to deliver innovation, create value for our customers, and support sustainable long-term growth.
We look forward to this exciting new chapter as we continue advancing endoscopic technologies and solutions that help improve patient care around the world.

Great to be part of an impactful EBUS Training Program at Amsterdam UMC. We supported 40 trainees through a program combining expert-led lectures with hands-on training.

We were proud to contribute a dedicated workstation featuring our EBUS system, including the EB19‑J10U ultrasound bronchoscope, enabling practical, real-world learning.

The Erasmus School of Endoscopy (ESE) has successfully concluded its ESD and Third Space Endoscopy Workshop series, bringing together leading specialists to bridge theory and advanced clinical practice.

As these techniques evolve across Europe, demand for practical training continues to grow. This program delivered an immersive learning experience to strengthen procedural autonomy and clinical confidence.

The workshops were supported by PENTAX Medical and our distribution partners, enabling hands-on training with advanced endoscopy systems in realistic clinical settings, while fostering exchange between clinicians, distributors, and the PENTAX Medical team.

Participants completed 12 hours of training on advanced dissection techniques and complication management, supported by 1:1 expert mentorship.

For many professionals, the voice is more than a means of communication; it is a critical tool for their work, leadership, and service to the community. 

In May 2026, PENTAX Medical, together with our valued partner Easmed, hosted the Mobile Voice Clinic 2026 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), our Centre of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur, in conjunction with World Voice Day.

The initiative featured expert-led discussions, clinical demonstrations, and on-site voice screenings—reinforcing the importance of early detection and preventive care in voice and swallowing health. During the event, PENTAX Medical introduced—for the first time in Malaysia—our latest stroboscopy platform, powered by the 9500 LED light source.

Could one endoscope change the way you manage challenging EUS cases?

In a prospective study* of 2,000 EUS patients, the slim linear echoendoscope (SLE) changed clinical management in 95.6% of cases where standard echoendoscopes failed by enabling a new diagnosis or altering the treatment plan. It was only 1.15% of patients, but for each one, the impact was critical.
