PENTAX CIS

1. Participation in the 5th Annual Congress of Thoracic Surgeon, Russia

PENTAX CIS participated in the 5th Annual Congress of Thoracic Surgeons, which was held in St-Petersburg on the 25th-27th of June 2015. For the first time we have invited an international speaker, Dr Piero Candoli from Italy, who has performed a live case, which was transmitted to the congress call.

Dr Candoli did TBNA and explained in detail, the benefits of EBUS and the strong advantages of using PENTAX and HITACHI equipment.

Prior to the Congress Dr Candoli participated in a local EBUS Basic Course. Together with Russian doctors (Dr Igor Vasiliev and Dr Ilya Sivokozov) Dr Candoli gave very detailed presentations on EBUS indications, TBNA technique and tips & tricks. Young doctors had also a possibility to train their skills using Simbionix simulator.

2. Exhibition and First Endoscopic master class in Turkmenia, on the 19th-23rd of July.

Turkmenia is known as one of the closed countries in the world. It takes three to four months to receive a visa and permission to enter the country.

However this adds great interest from the local medical society in foreign guests and imported medical equipment. PENTAX CIS presented part of our product range during the exhibition. This was even demonstrated by a few state TV channels. Interviews were given by Andrey Bakulev, Regional Sales Manager for CIS countries excluding Russia.

In addition to this our team and local distributor organized a meeting with local doctors including

Dr Alexander Smirnov from St-Petersburg, who shared his experience in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. The biggest interest was paid to EUS, EPK-i7000 and ESD.

We will continue our activities in this country in order to improve the skills of local doctors to achieve better patient outcome.
