Job Title: Finance Manager

Reports to: Director of Finance

Location: Mississauga, Ontario



Financial reporting, analysis and annual budgeting. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports under the supervision of the Director. Help create and maintain all necessary consolidated statements, reports and analysis required in the corporate consolidation process. Work closely with Director of Finance, assistant controller and Accountants to report actual results, forecast revenue and expenditures, explore historical financial data, predict future results and drive process and policy improvements.

Main Tasks:

  • Process all aspects of the monthly close of financial records
  • Post journal entries, reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss statements
  • Work cross functionally with other departments to ensure month end closing processes are complete and validated
  • Prepare monthly financial statements by gathering and analyzing data from the general ledger system and other external sources
  • Handle and manage the full period end consolidation process, including the overseas submission of financial results and management reports
  • Perform monthly general ledger/cost center account analysis in order to assure integrity of financial reports
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and interpret financial statements
  • Manage the yearly budget process, as well as quarterly forecasting requirements
  • Evaluate current and past financial data and performance
  • Support semi-annual/annual internal and external audits in conjunction with auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures and implement control improvements based upon changing business conditions
  • Confirm that key controls are met and prepare monthly documentation in accordance with IFRS standards.  Assist with JSOX testing and documentation. Support FCRP quarterly reporting
  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting and assist with special projects as requested


  • University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
  • Accounting designation – CPA
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance
  • Sound knowledge and application of accounting standards and principles
  • Sound knowledge of compliance regulations
  • Sound knowledge of Financial and ERP systems
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, a collaborative style, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Advanced level user of Microsoft Office programs
  • Strategic thinking and analytical ability
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task
  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel within Canada, and occasionally to the US for business meetings
