Course Description:
The GI Scope Handling & Reprocessing - Essentials course is part of the PENTAX i-Care Certification and provides Nurses and Reprocessing Technicians with comprehensive knowledge of recommended techniques that will enable them to properly handle, maintain, leak test and reprocess PENTAX endoscopes. Participants will also acquire knowledge of various PENTAX procedures, empowering them to respond to problematic situations with confidence and accuracy. This program is designed to educate within the specific hospital procedures and infection control as well as CSGNA guidelines. Upon successful completion of this program, the Nurses and Reprocessing Technicians will receive a PENTAX Certificate. CSGNA Nurses will also accumulate Credit Hours to their Continuous Learning with CSGNA.
Course Length:
1 hour = Equipment care
3 hours = In-room procedures & reprocessing
1 hour = Review and exam
Pre requisites:
Basic knowledge of PENTAX equipment and technical language skills necessary.
