PENTAX Medical announces exclusive sales agreement with Advanced Sterilization Products in Canada
Mississauga, Ontario – PENTAX Medical, an industry leader in endoscopy imaging devices, has signed an exclusive sales agreement with Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP) in Canada, a leader in infection prevention and part of Johnson & Johnson Medical Products, a division of Johnson & Johnson, Inc.
Under the terms of the agreement, PENTAX Canada, Inc. (PENTAX Medical) will be the sole sales agent for EVOTECH® Endoscope Cleaner and Reprocessor (ECR) and CIDEX® OPA CONCENTRATE cleaning solution for endoscopes in Canada.
EVOTECH® Endoscope Cleaner and Reprocessor
The EVOTECH ECR is the first commercially available system that both cleans* and provides high-level disinfection for a wide range of endoscopes. Manual cleaning of endoscopes is not required prior to placement in the EVOTECH® ECR System when selecting cycles that contain a wash stage.[1]

According to the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG), 1.6 million endoscopic procedures are performed each year in Canada.[2] There are strict reprocessing requirements to ensure endoscopes are cleaned after each procedure.

*Does not eliminate bedside pre-cleaning. Manual cleaning of qualified medical devices (endoscopes) is not required prior to placement in the EVOTECH® ECR when selecting those cycles that contain a wash stage. Not all endoscopes can be automatically cleaned, but may be high level disinfected in the EVOTECH® ECR. Please refer to the EVOTECH® ECR User Guide and specific connection diagrams for more detailed information regarding these endoscopes.
