Forward Academy™ ESD Training

Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD): Six-month training curriculum

The need for a well-organised and structured training in ESD across Europe has been clearly highlighted by the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE).

Inspired by the ESGE curriculum for endoscopic submucosal dissection training, we created our Forward Program, a comprehensive six-month training program. Here, experts in ESD act as mentors, guiding participants and comprehensively teaching the necessary skills.

Our Forward Program aims to target high-potential, skilled physicians who would like to be the future experts in performing ESD. It entails several steps to guarantee the development of the trainee’s skills, including comprehensive one-on-one mentoring, ex-vivo and in-vivo hands-on training as well as case observation.

The application period for this training program is now closed. The applicants will be notified about the final decisions on their applications by the organizing team.

Training steps

23.+24.06.2023: ESD basics lectures and ex-vivo hands-on
28.+29.09.2023: ESD advanced lectures and in-vivo cases
Virtual and personal mentoring via Proximie (digital learning platform)

Number of participants: 15 physicians from Europe, Middle East and Africa
Criteria for application: Physicians who already started the ESGE ESD training curriculum.
Selection process: All applications will be carefully reviewed to select 15 final participants.
Participation fee: Free of charge
Course certificate: You will receive a certificate after the full completion of the 6 months programme.
