The Websites are intended to be a scientific driven platform to gather endoscopic experts in a network where clinical cases and experiences may be shared amongst peers and discussed in frequent webinars.

Personal data means any information concerning the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable person including name, email address and phone number. However specific information on preferences, hobbies, memberships or visited websites also may contain personal data. We solely collect, process and use personal data if permitted or ordered by law or if you have provided us with your consent. 


a. Automatic collection and recording of data when using our Websites

Due to technical reasons within the communication in the internet, your browser transmits specific data from your computer to us, like date and time of the visit of the Websites, your type of browser, the settings of your browser and the operating system, the website last visited and the transferred data volume. Such data which are typically not personal will only be stored for the purpose of evaluation in case of errors and will be deleted when no longer needed to fulfil the purpose of the data collection. Additionally, we normally receive your IP-address from your computer, which could be regarded as personal data in each individual case. We solely use the above named data for internal system-based purposes.

b. Further collection and use of personal data

Insofar as further personal data are automatically collected or disclosed by you during a visit on the Websites, these personal data are solely used to provide and allow access to the Websites.

c. Newsletter

The Websites offer the opportunity to subscribe to an email newsletter. You will receive the newsletter that provides you periodically with information in the field of gastroenterology or on PENTAX Medical. To receive the newsletter, we require a valid email address and additional information to determine whether you are in fact the owner of the email address. When subscribing to the newsletter, we will store your IP address as well as the date and time of subscription to protect us to exclude that a third party improperly and without your knowledge makes use of your email address.

The data thereby collected is used solely for the purpose of sending the newsletter. 

You may cancel your subscription to the newsletter at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs in accordance with the basic tariffs. We do not charge any costs for the cancellation of the subscription. You may cancel your subscription to the newsletter via a link you will find in the email confirming your subscription as well as in each newsletter you receive. In addition you may also cancel your subscription to the newsletter via a notice to the above mentioned contact details. 

d. Data processing outside of the European Union (“EU”) and European Economic Area (“EEA”)

In principle, your data will only be processed by Data Centres within the EU or EEA. However, in connection with the use of Google Analytics (see below) it may be necessary that your data will be processed in Data Centres within the United States of America.


Concerning the Websites, we use for purposes of authentication so-called cookies. 

A cookie is a small text-file that is filed on your hard-drive by the web-server. This file contains a so-called “Session ID” and the URL of that website which you have requested from our web server before you sign in.

You may choose whether or not you wish to accept cookies. You may configure the browser in such a way that you are notified in the event of the receipt of a cookie. The Websites use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, i.e. text files stored on your computer, to enable analysis of website usage by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the Websites will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States of America. In case IP-anonymization is activated on such websites, however, your IP address will be previously truncated by Google within the EU/EAA. Only in exceptional cases the full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the United States of America and truncated there.

The IP-anonymization is activated on this Websites. 

On behalf of the Websites’ owner, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the Websites, compile reports about website activities, and provide the Websites’ owner with further services related to website and Internet usage. The IP address sent from your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data by Google.
