Clinical team using PENTAX Medical i-scan technology wins top research award

PENTAX Medical, experts in high definition endoscopy, would like to offer congratulations to all the winners at the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) ninth annual ASGE Crystal Awards held recently in Orlando, Florida. Particular congratulations go to the research team from Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust, led by Professor Pradeep Bhandari, who were one of the teams awarded.

The awards were held in conjunction with Digestive Disease Week (DDW®) and symbolise the finest in leadership, research and scientific pursuit. The event recognised the 2013 award and grant recipients who have shared their expertise and strengthened the specialty and the Society.

The Portsmouth team, consisting of: Dr Peter J. Basford, Dr Gaius R. Longcroft-Wheaton and Professor Pradeep Bhandari, were among those awarded the Cook Medical Marsha Dreyer Award, for their research paper titled: "The learning curve for in-vivo characterisation of small colonic polyps: number needed to train (NNT) is 200 polyps."
